Lt Gov Rutherford Endorses John Teichert for U.S. Senate

BALTIMORE, Md. – Retired Air Force Brigadier General John Teichert received a major endorsement this week as former Maryland Lieutenant Governor Boyd Rutherford publicly backed the candidate’s bid for the U.S. Senate.

Former Lt. Governor Rutherford, who served in Larry Hogan’s administration, shared why he is choosing to endorse John Teichert for U.S. Senate, stating, “General John Teichert embodies the principles of strong leadership, integrity, and dedication that our great nation deserves. His unwavering commitment to service, combined with a proven track record of effective leadership, uniquely qualifies him to represent the people of Maryland in the U.S. Senate. I am proud to endorse General Teichert and am confident that his strong character and strategic vision will bring about positive change for our state and country. Maryland deserves a leader of his caliber, and I wholeheartedly support his candidacy.”

Rutherford isn’t the only Hogan administration official to back Teichert’s bid for U.S. Senate, with former Secretary of Commerce Mike Gill also announcing his support. In a statement announcing his endorsement of Teichert’s candidacy, former Secretary Gill said in part, “General John Teichert’s call to service resonates with the spirit of the great state of Maryland. As I saw first hand when he commanded Joint Base Andrews, his leadership embodies passion, principle, inspiration, resilience and dedication, qualities our state deserves in the U.S. Senate. With confidence, I endorse General Teichert, knowing his strategic vision will forge a promising path for Maryland’s future.”

The endorsements by Boyd Rutherford and Mike Gill follow growing support for John Teichert’s candidacy. As the election approaches, Teichert remains focused on representing the interests and issues of Marylanders across the state by promoting his compelling message of leadership, not politics.
