Welcome to Teichert on the Trail, our weekly email highlighting the latest news and events from the campaign as Brigadier General (ret) Teichert earns the hearts, minds, and votes of Marylanders in the race to be their next U.S. Senator.
Teichert in the News
On Thursday, January 18th, Brigadier General (ret) Teichert rolled out the Law Enforcement for Teichert Coalition, the newest coalition amid his bid for U.S. Senate. Speaking at the press conference were Sheriff Joe Gamble of Talbot County and Sheriff Matthew Crisafulli of Worcester County. Teichert opened the event by saying, “Unfortunately here in Maryland, and in many places around our country, our politicians, including my opponents, are saying just the opposite of that. They’re saying to law enforcement, we don’t trust you, we don’t appreciate you and we won’t fully support you. And as a result, we see these pro criminal policies that ultimately degrade law and order in our communities and ignore the needs of the community and law abiding citizens.”
On Friday, General Teichert joined Tom Rodgers on Fox 45 to discuss his top priorities as a candidate for the U.S. Senate in Maryland. When discussing the educational crisis in Maryland and across the country, Teichert said in part, “We need school choice. We need parents to be able to make the decision about what type of schooling situation is best for their children.”
On Monday, January 15th, General Teichert joined China Unscripted to discuss American infighting and the threatening nature of China’s position towards the United States. When speaking about unconventional war between the U.S. and China, Teichert said, “look back to $700 B of American stolen intellectual property a year- that has a real impact on our country. Or Chinese communist clubs in U.S. colleges. Or Chinese police stations in major U.S. cities. Or the spy balloon fiasco from a year ago. Or encircling the United States with spy stations like the one that currently is stood up in Cuba. Those are examples that are far short of conventional war, but are starting to erode America’s ability to allow the international order to remain that has benefited humanity since the end of World War II that is free, open, prosperous, and secure.”
John also joined Rich Valdés on America at Night to discuss the recent Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, America’s defensive strategy, and the generals’ bid for the U.S. Senate. The general stated in part, “Every single response we’ve seen from America in the last 3 years- and whether it’s leaving Afghanistan in a feckless way, or very hesitant responses around Ukraine or in the Western Pacific- all of it has revolved around the President being extremely concerned that American strength will actually cause escalation and aggression. And we’ve just seen time and again that the less America is willing to respond, the more likely it is that we will face aggression- and not the other way around.”
On Tuesday, General Teichert joined Nicole Berlie on News Nation to discuss Putin’s alleged plan to lead Russia into a world war- and how it would impact the United States. Teichert stated in part, “Ultimately, Article V of the North Atlantic treaty would prompt all N.A.T.O members to come to the support of one attacked N.A.T.O member, but ultimately, if you look what’s going on in Ukraine, Russia cannot even subdue that one small non-N.A.T.O member. It makes it far less likely that he’s going to have this large strategic surprise to do something far more grandiose- and something that he’s failed to do thus far.”
