Candidate for U.S. Senate
This year, General Teichert may have kicked his campaign off in October 2023, but the last three months have been nothing short of a whirlwind campaign for the 30+ year veteran and GOP candidate for the U.S. Senate in Maryland. Check out some of the biggest highlights from the campaign below!
John kicked off his campaign for Senate with an appearance on Fox 45 Baltimore, where he made the case for leadership, not politics in Washington, D.C. General Teichert discussed his background in the military, his service to his country, and his desire to continue that service as Maryland’s next United States Senator. On October 24th, General Teichert joined Jonathan Hunt on Fox News to discuss Defense Secretary Austin’s deployment orders. The retired general said in part, “The things that we do to deter an adversary by demonstrating capability and will are the same things that we can use to respond to an adversary. And by posturing our forces in a better position both to deter and respond it makes it less likely we are going to need to respond to those threats.”
On December 9th, General Teichert joined Fox News again to discuss the recent attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. When discussing Iran’s collaboration in the attacks, John responded, “All of this that’s gone on in the last two months has been greenlit by Iran. Fortunately, there at the embassy in Baghdad there’s an air defense system to help protect them. My team brought that in when I was the Senior Defense Official there in the summer of 2020. But all of these malign activities that are going on, including the 85 attacks and 70 Americans injured and one American killed, have all been prompted by an Iran that has not been deterred, and frankly has been emboldened, by the weakness of the Biden Administration for the last three years.”
On Monday, November 6th, John joined News Nation to discuss the conflict in Gaza. In response to a Senate resolution, Teichert said, “All of this is about that word ‘deterrence,’ which means stopping the adversary, Iran in this case, from doing what you don’t want them to do. I think this resolution is rooted in a perceived American weakness in the region. What I mean by that is that we’ve got great asset capability that we’ve now deployed to the Middle East, as we should, but in the Iranian’s minds, there’s a question about our will – our actual will to respond if attacked or provoked because we’ve been appeasing Iran for the last three years. Ultimately this senatorial resolution would demonstrate a level of will that we haven’t seen from President Biden for the last three years.”
On November 26th. John joined Fox 5’s On The Hill to discuss his bid for the U.S. Senate in Maryland, addressing key issues facing Marylanders today and how he’ll lead America in the right direction in the U.S. Senate. Teichert shared his message of leadership, not politics, by saying, “I’m a John Teichert wing. I’m a “we the people” wing. I’m an unalienable rights wing. I’m defining myself by getting out to where the people are in places like Baltimore City, Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, and helping them understand that conservative principles can meet the needs that they really care about.”

VETERANS — On December 12th, General Teichert announced the launch of the ‘Veterans for Teichert’ coalition – the first coalition group of his campaign for the U.S Senate.
