Meet John

At age seventeen, Brigadier General John “Dragon” Teichert first raised his right hand and took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. He did so alongside another ROTC cadet, Melonie, who has been his wife for over 25 years. Now recently retired, John continues to passionately fulfill that oath as a candidate to represent the state of Maryland in the United States Senate. 

After graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University, John entered the U.S. Air Force as an F-15E combat pilot. He would go on to serve as a F-22 test pilot and eventually lead as the commander of Joint Base Andrews, the commander of Edwards Air Force Base, and the nation’s Senior Defense Official in Iraq. General Teichert ended his service in the Air Force as the Assistant Deputy Undersecretary of the Air Force, International Affairs. During his career, he logged over 2,000 flight hours in 38 different aircraft types.

General Teichert is a champion for inspirational, innovative, integrity-filled leadership. He has vast whole-of-government leadership experience that includes a variety of instruments of power – from cutting-edge technology to our nation’s most sensitive international relationships. John has written and spoken extensively on leadership, national security, innovation, risk management, and international affairs.

Throughout his years of service at home and abroad, General Teichert witnessed the potency of our founding principles, and the ability to unleash them through service, leadership, and innovation. Now, he is taking that focus to the United States Senate to reignite the powerful promise of America. 

General Teichert is running for United States Senate as a leader, not a politician. He is ready to fight with everything he has on behalf of Marylanders to support and defend the Constitution of the United States and to bring our nation back to where it belongs.
